Springbok Rugby 2015

Will Saturday’s match against the World XV with Springbok captain Jean De Villiers being given the all clear to participate in the open match against the world XV in Cape Town at Newlands. Jean De Villiers had a full knee reconstruction at the end of 2014 and is one of six players who got the all clear by medical staff to be considered for selection. Missing will be Duane Vermeulen who is looking more likely to also miss the Rugby World Cup with a neck injury. Fourie du Preez who is first choice scrumhalf will hopefully be returning to face off against Argentina in August.
With a Springbok side that is looking like changing throughout the Rugby Championship round as injured players become available, the Springbok squad look like it might come together for the Rugby World cup.

But for now the Springboks first challenge is the World XV, with top players from the six nations – South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, France, England and Samoa. With a 23 man squad there are five Boks who will wear World XV jerseys for this friendly against the green and gold. Last year the Boks ran away with 47 – 13 win!

If you in Cape Town? Get down to DHL Newlands Stadium and watch some great running rugby.
After we the World XV the Springboks will go into the Rugby Championship played between the southern hemisphere teams: South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina. Then in September we look forward to the Rugby World Cup 2015 held in England. So for all the rugby fans, the next 4 months is heaven.
