It’s the festive season and we all want to get into the relaxed feeling, and what a better way than to stop and enjoy some carols.
Here in Cape Town there are various places to visit and enjoy some down time! But the ones you don’t want to miss on a summer evening in the southern hemisphere are:
Vergelegen: Carols by Candlelight. 17 December 2014. Christmas concert on the lawns of the Vergelegen Wine Estate.
Cape Point Vineyards: Noordhoek, 18 December from 4:30 pm Cape Point Vineyards Community Market is proud to announce that we will once again be hosting a Carols by Candlelight Event in aid of the Valley Development Project. This year’s Carol’s will be led by platinum selling South African musician and songwriter Elvis Blue.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens: Cape Town, Southern Suburbs: Carols by Candlelight. 18 – 21 December 2014.These Cape Town Christmas concerts organised by the Rotary Club present traditional Christmas carols on the lawns in a stunning setting looking onto the Table Mountain National Park Mountains. Bring a picnic and a Bottle of wine for the best evening in Cape Town.
Oude Libertas Amphitheatre: Stellenbosch, Christmas Carols and Joy. 20 – 21 December 2014. Festive season concert with Richard Cock. A picnic concert under the stars with popular Christmas songs with friends and family.
V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre: Cape Town, Carols by Candlelight at the Waterfront. 20 – 21 December 2014. Christmas Carols and nativity play at the amphitheatre with its view up at Table Mountain. Free entrance.
If you want to get out of town? This venue for Carols can’t be beaten at the Harold Porter Botanical Garden with their Carols by Candlelight on the 22nd December 2014 at 6pm for 7pm. Musicians from the Narrative Foundation’s music development programme feature in this summer concert. Venue: Harold Porter Botanical Garden, cnr Clarence Dr & Broadwith Rd, Betty’s Bay.
